2023-2024 ACADEMIC CALENDAR OPTIONS & SURVEY
A calendar committee including teachers, staff and parent representatives recently met to create two calendar options for the upcoming 2023-2024 school year.

We're asking Pelham City Schools employees, parents, and community stakeholders to review the calendar options in the links below. After reviewing the options, please click the Calendar Survey link to complete a short survey and select the calendar option that you view as most beneficial to our school system. 

The 2023-2024 Calendar Survey will be open until Wednesday, February 22. After the survey timeframe closes, the results will be submitted to the superintendent and the Pelham City Schools Board of Education. The calendar will be discussed and voted on at the Board of Education meeting on Tuesday, February 28.

February is Alabama Career & Technical Education (CTE) Month, and while CTE is a focus in our schools throughout the year, now is the perfect time to share more about the Pelham City Schools programs and classes that focus on developing college and career ready student leaders.

DO YOU RECEIVE TEXT MESSAGES FROM PELHAM CITY SCHOOLS?

Pelham City Schools uses the School Messenger Parent Notification System to provide communication to parents and staff members by phone and/or email regarding changes to school schedules and cancellations, district and school emergencies, attendance and other important school news.

In addition to emails and phone calls, custodial parents may opt-in to receive text messages.

•  If you have not already opted to receive these messages, it’s a simple process. Just text  “Y” or “Yes” to 67587 from your mobile device. More details.
• Please note: Only the mobile device numbers of the custodial parents on the student’s record in PowerSchool are eligible to receive the text messages.

Our latest Profile booklet is included in the February edition of the Shelby County Reporter's Profile magazine. The booklet is titled “Panther Profiles”, and it features spotlights on STEM in our classrooms, school safety, the impact of great educators and The Pelham Way.

PAWS FOR MENTAL HEALTH: WINTER EDITION
Pelham City Schools’ Mental Health Support Services team works to promote positive mental health among students and staff. Check out the current newsletter for tips on supporting students and the impact positive words can have on a student’s self-esteem and emotional health.

2022-2023 TEACHER & SUPPORT PERSON OF THE YEAR HONOREES 

Congratulations to the 2022-2023 Teacher & Support Person of the Year Honorees from each of our schools!

Karen Harrison and Bob Sherer from Pelham Oaks Elementary, Stacey Brown and Kaneesha McGinnis from Pelham Ridge Elementary, Lily Walker Ward and Katie Gotham from Pelham Park Middle School, and Tonya Hatch and Shelley Bates from Pelham High School. Mrs. Brown was also named the District Elementary Teacher of the Year, and Mrs. Walker Ward was named the District Secondary Teacher of the Year.
