Social Distancing and Preventing the Spread of Germs

Remember that we all play a role in slowing the spread of coronavirus in our community. We encourage our families to continue following the guidance of public health officials during the school closure. Please remember that even though students are out of school, it is important to minimize interactions with large groups, maintain social distancing, and focus on hand-washing and other measures that help stop the spread of germs.

We encourage everyone to practice good hygiene, including:
  • Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. If soap and water are not available, use an alcohol based hand sanitizer.
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth with unwashed hands.
  • Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
  • Stay home and away from others when you are sick.
  • Cover your mouth and nose with the inside of your elbow when you cough or sneeze.
  • Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces.

If your student or someone they have been in contact with is diagnosed with COVID-19, please follow guidelines from their medical provider and notify Pelham City Schools by emailing If you have questions about symptoms your student is experiencing, please contact your medical provider for guidance.
